What is the difference between using your debit card for "Debit" or "Credit"?

A "Debit Card" or "Check Card" is an ATM card that bears a major credit card logo (such as Visa or MasterCard) that can be used exactly like a credit card. The major difference is that there is no interest rate to pay when using this card. Any time you use a debit card, the amount of your purchase is deducted directly from your checking account.

What's the difference?

DEBIT - The transaction is processed through the PULSE ATM network, and you must use your personal identification number (PIN). The money will be deducted from your checking account immediately. If you want cash back during a transaction, you must choose "Debit."

CREDIT - The transaction is processed through the VISA network. The money will come out of your checking account in about 2-3 days. So, you must remember that the balance that may be showing in your checking account may not reflect all your transactions. However, using a debit card as a credit card allows you some of the same protections as traditional credit cards.

Remember, there is no credit line. The only limit to the card is the amount of money you have in the bank.
